Visit to Masteroast

Cambridgeshire members spend an evening drinking – coffee
Ten members of the Cambridgeshire Branch, spent a Thursday evening in April in Peterborough drinking – coffee.  We were guests of “Masteroast”.  Donned with hi-vis vest and a blue hairnet (and beard nets for some) we were escorted around this factory.

The Masteroast Coffee Company Ltd. is an independently owned coffee roasting and packing facility, offering an unrivalled range of coffees and private label packing solutions since 1981. With over 30 years of expertise, experience and understanding of the coffee market.

Seventy plus different coffees are imported from various parts of the world, drum roasted to order. We saw hundreds of sacks of coffee beans which are stored and used as required. They have premium coffees as well as the traditional ones.

We saw the roast and the large area used for storing the packaging. Rolls of silver backed paper are fed into a large machine which turns the paper into packets and seals the coffee in. There are14 packing lines including bags, pouches, sachets, tins, vacuum-packs, pods, coffee bags and capsules.

We finished up in the trading room sampling some of the man y coffees that are produced here.

Staff are working 24/7 to make this one of Peterborough’s biggest companies.
